The city of San Diego has been ranked the fifth most popular city in the United States to hold a meeting or event in the United States, according to a new list just released by Cvent. This is the third year in a row San Diego has made Cvent’s top list.

Cvent, an event management software provider, evaluated more than 5,000 U.S. cities featured on the Cvent Supplier Network, using activity that was tracked from July 2013 to June 2014.

What do meeting planners say they like about San Diego?

“It’s really the whole package,” said DeeAnne Snyder, Director of Event Services. “We hear from planners all the time that it is the overall destination that works for them. That includes the city’s walkability, the weather and the fact that it’s a place attendees can bring the entire family.”

Conveniently located just three miles from the San Diego International Airport and within walking distance of more than 11,000 high quality hotel rooms, world renowned city parks, scenic San Diego Bay and hundreds of dining, shopping and entertainment options in the Gaslamp Quarter, the San Diego Convention Center is convenient and walkable.

San Diego is also the perfect place for meetings to collaborate with local industries, as it is home to hundreds of biotechnology, software and telecommunications companies.

In addition, attractions and arts and culture venues are just a short cab ride away. From the world-famous San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld San Diego to Balboa Park and the USS Midway Museum, there is no shortage of attractions and cultural institutions to experience between or after meetings.
